Sandpoint, Idaho

So last weekend at the Spokane ArtFest 2014, my husband met an artist from Sandpoint, Idaho that makes really nice furniture out of wine barrels.  Patrick really likes wine barrels so we drove to Sandpoint, Idaho today to pick a couple up for our front porch.

Luckily, they both miraculously fit in our jeep!  We were able to tour the man's shop and area where he stored his work.  You could tell this was his passion.  Patrick also bought me a very pretty handmade lazy susan for our island.

Anyway, since we were in Sandpoint (a place we've been wanting to go to), we explored some, going to little shops, eating ice cream, and walking along the beach of the massive lake that has over 120 miles of shoreline!

The beach area as well as the town were just beautiful and very clean.  There are some hotels that have rooms that open up right to the beach.  Many families were there with children and I don't think I saw one piece of trash anywhere!  The water is crystal clear.  There is a beautiful park right by the beach where they have a "snack shop" and "ice cream shop."  They also have clean bathrooms and free parking.  There are lifegaurds on duty about every 150 ft.  There are many swings, playsets, bar-b-q pits, picnic tables, and pavilions for shade.  Oh and there is also two volleyball courts and two tennis courts!  Seems like a perfect weekend getaway with friends and family as its only 1.5 hrs away and is a beautiful drive through forests and mountains and lakes. Here are some shots:

The life jackets are on "loan" just hanging there for free! I couldn't believe my eyes! I would have never seen this in Houston!

P.S. I am 4 weeks preggo here with our little egg!
